Good bones: Coquette has good bones, no question. The quality of the materials is unmistakable, but the execution feels premature. It’s unrefined, unbalanced, like a debutante who stepped onto the stage before finishing her rehearsals. Maybe what it needs is... Good bones: Coquette has good bones, no question. Maybe what it needs is time, maseration, to settle, to age. As it stands, Coquette needed a chaperone to be wearable. Teint de Neige stepped in like an older sister with powdery poise, rounding out the sharp edges and giving her the elegance she couldn’t summon on her own. Together, they make sense. Alone, Coquette is still finding her footing. There’s promise here, real promise. But it’s not yet a soloist. I’ll revisit her after she’s had time to mature. I hope the perfumer isn't finished with her. For now, she’s a beautiful work in progress.
