Apparently this was a common problem and the slide has since been discontinued. GREAT costumer service to provide this replacement lid in such a timely manner. This lid closes securely and does a good job when in place but personally not a fan of lid that you have to fully open and remove to drink. I mainly use mine in the car so this makes spills easier to happen as I can't fully close it one-handed and also don't like the fact that it is fully open so it lets the heat out faster.

Hope it lasts longer than the original lid.: This is my second lid, first one disintegrated after about 6 months. We own 4 other Fellow thermoses and only had trouble with one. Not super happy had to pay so much for a replacement lid but we love the products and without a lid what are ya gonna do.
