As suggested, I filled the bottom half with fallen leaves and sticks then topped with compost from a local nursery, peat moss, worm castings, and old potting soil. One bed was thriving but the other was not-- it was STRUGGLING. I knew it was a nitrogen deficiency because I would see the green drain from my plants. And I tried everything to replenish it-- liquid fertilizer, quality compost, "a hope and a prayer". No movement. I finally dropped this stuff in because the bag had opened a bit in shipping. I was planning to save this fertilizer to replenish my garden for the fall, but I didn't want to waste what had collected at the bottom of the box (maybe a few handfuls worth). I figured that I may as well throw it in the struggling bed..... WITHIN A WEEK, the struggling bed caught up with my thriving bed. The first pic was taken on May 15; the second was taken this morning. I have loved all of Arber's products, but this one knocked me off my feet.
