The temperature reading gets stuck on the last reading after it is turned off. This means that if I boil water to 212 degrees and then turn off the kettle, the next time I add water and turn it on the temperature reading remains at 212 degrees. Upon doing more research, I found YouTube reviews and Reddit posts describing this problem dating back over a year. I contacted customer support about the issue and included a video documenting exactly what was happening They offered me a replacement kettle under the warranty. I was skeptical that this would solve the issue based on my research and said so, but the customer service representative assured me that the problem was a sensor hardware issue. I made a trip to the post office to return the kettle and waited for my new kettle to arrive. Sure enough, the new kettle has the exact same issue. Now customer service admits that the problem is indeed a known firmware bug that affects every single kettle. It's incomprehensible that a kettle at this price point would have such a basic issue, and I'm frustrated that customer service gave me the runaround and wasted so much of my time.

The Stqgg EKG Kettle has made quite a difference in efficiency as well. Before the Stagg EKG Electric I used a stove top kettle, it worked at first but as I got more into coffee I found myslef needing precise temperature more often and I was constantly turning the poor stove on and off all day! Often I would get busy and miss my brew temp., so I would have to turn the stove back on to rewarm the water to the temp I missed. No more of all that....this kettle has freed me from the stove and I am making better tasting coffee as well with the kettle. It's really been a joy to use the kettle everytime because of the design. It's noticeably balanced and the kettle pours very consistent. It has been convenient to use for pour over. And with the balance of the kettle you can pour fast or slow and stop on a dime to the desired amount. It heats fast and is quiet compared to some noisy stove top kettles I've had. I would buy the kettle again. It has made brewing and tasting more enjoyable.
